Evolution is a science fiction television series that aired on the Fox Network from September 26 to November 28, 2001. It was created by Farhad Safinia, and produced by DreamWorks Television. The show tells the story of a group of strangers who are brought together by a mysterious event that triggers rapid evolution in humans and animals alike. The main characters are Dr. David Shepherd, a brilliant scientist who has to race against time to try to find a cure for the mutation, Nora Gage, a journalist who investigates the strange occurrences, and Laura Daughtery, a government agent who is tasked with investigating the phenomenon and stopping those who seek to take advantage of it for their own gain. The series was canceled after 13 episodes due to low ratings. Despite its short run, Evolution gained a cult following and is considered an underrated gem of science fiction television.
